Quick! What's the number for 9-1-1?!

Last Thursday, a bunch of us girls were making our dinners.
Kenzie, Lindsay and Christie had microwaved some food and were getting ready to eat and Andrea threw some potatoes into the oven... about 30 seconds after Andrea turned the oven on Christie said "woah, the oven light just turned on...it's like...flickering"
We opened the door to find this little flame on the elements that would spark occasionally! We quickly turned off the oven and started to try and blow the little fire out...nothing.
So Andrea grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed the oven...NOTHING! Sprayed AGAIN and nothing again! Christie ran out of the back door laughing and watching through the window. Lindsay was going to open the windows but we had taped Christmas lights up, so just ran to the back door to let some of the extinguisher smoke out! Kenzie ran to our RA's room, but she wasn't there...so Andrea ran to the Central building to find help.
While this is happening, Kenzie is getting her camera to take pictures, Lindsay and Christie are holding the doors open, staring at the fire thinking how much they wished they had marshmellows for a funny picture, and were laughing and eating their dinners.
Our Hall Advisor had called 911 and had us evacuate the building...as the 2 police cars, 2 firetrucks and 2 ambulances showed up, people were gathering around Horne to see what the problem was. It was pretty embarrassing having to tell them there was a tiny fire we couldnt control. Especially for Lindsay and Christie who were still eating their dinners!

The firemen got that fire out! Good thing they showed up!

Our kitchen was a complete mess! There was extinguisher powder everywhere! We had to do a lot of dishes, sweeping and wiping down the kitchen...but we made it a good time.
Music was playing, so of course we busted out in song and dance...and for some reason dressed funny too with our high pants. Must have been the fumes or something
Everyone is save in the beloved Horne 52...just a little worried about using the oven now.

Halloween was a great time in Horne 52 :)
We carved some pumpkins at relief society and had our fhe brother carve the Joker for us! Doesn't it look awesome?!
We dressed as a white trash wedding family, oh it was hilarious!
We had a fantastic trip to the D.I. for the sweet costumes.
(notice the POT of flowers the bride has haha)
We also made up white trash names for everyone....can't exactly remember them anymore though- sorry!
We made dinner in a pumpkin to celebrate and a graveyard scene for our dessert!
Dinner was the highlight of the night. :)
Here is the happy couple cutting the cake!
Here is the lovely bride and mother-to-be
The happy couple Joe and Shalece
Father of the bride and the son in law....yeah....
Proud parents
Gorgeous bridesmaids in denim
Beautiful collection of shoes
We showed BYU how to have a good time at a Halloween dance
Halloween was a blast for us girls in Horne 52! Hopefully we can find another use for the great costumes we got. :)

Living on a Prayer--Horne 52 style

Some people claim that they wish life was a musical. In Horne 52, this wish is a reality. At any given moment, someone could burst into song, from David Archuleta to a famous Broadway play, and everyone else will join in. We're basically like High School Musical...except for it's college! Our hall even has a rule that if you're gonna fight, you gotta sing it, so it's pleasant for everyone else around you. So far the only people that seem to have delt with this rule are Kenzie and Christie, and boy, it sure is entertaining! A few weeks ago, Shalece, being the dancing queen she is, pulled out her iPod and put on the classic "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi, and jumped on the table and started rocking out.

Not to be outdone, the rest of us (except Kenzie--I'm not sure where she was at this moment!) became the background dancers. As you can obviously tell, Horne 52 is not lacking ANY sort of musical/dance talent.

Especially the lovely Christie Beck. I'm pretty sure all of us are jealous of her mad skills.

A few weeks later at FHE, we were playing a game in which we all wrote down someones name and a dare they had to do. Little did we know, the seemingly innocent RM, Tim, added a little twist to the game.
Whatever the dare was that we put down for someone else, we had to do ourselves. Andrea dared Shalece to play the air guitar to "Living on a Prayer". So, at that moment, Andrea made her premier on the kitchen table. She did quite the impressive job, though the background dancers were subpar from the previous time ;-)

Even though it's quite obvious that the girls of Horne 52 are extremely talented and beautiful, it seems like most of the time when someone breaks out in song, and a visitor is over, this is the response:

(They are just jealous, I'm sure)

Needless to say, Living on a Prayer has become the official theme song of Horne 52. Thank you Bon Jovi! (if you have no idea what this song is, it's the only song on our music player on here) :-D

Welcome to Horne 52

Well world here is our Horne 52 blog! Katie and Lindsay thought it would be a great idea to have a blog specifically for the apartment. We will hopefully update this often. (well...Katie and Lindsay will ;) ) This is an easy way for us to update our many readers on what we are doing down here as roommates, but not fill up our personal blogs. Enjoy!
